The Sheba Cancer Center and Institute of Oncology, headed by Dr. Raanan Berger, is one of the largest cancer centers in Israel, integrating sophisticated clinical methods with compassionate and supportive attitude to cancer treatment. The ultra-modern center treats more than 4,500 new patients a year, and handles more than 40,000 patient visits per year. The center operates cancer treatment clusters in breast, lung, and gastrointestinal cancers, melanoma, uro-oncology, neuro-oncology and other cancers.
Aside from providing clinical treatment, the Sheba Cancer Center operates at the translational level in order to provide the basis for innovative clinical research programs (both external and internally developed).
The division includes the following units:

Examples of some of the important clinical trials in which we participated include the recent multi-center herceptin and lapatinib clinical trials in breast cancer lead by Dr. Bella Kaufman and the tumor infiltrating lymphocytes (TIL) studies in melanoma lead by Prof. Jacob Schachter.
